Birdwatching

Flores is an internationally recognized destination for observing certain groups of bird species. Due to its central position in the Atlantic Ocean and being the westernmost point of Europe, it is possible to observe numerous migratory species that occasionally veer into the Azores due to migratory deviations, primarily caused by adverse weather conditions. It is also possible to observe seabirds that nest on the island.
