It’s at the westernmost point of Europe that you’ll find the most welcoming atmosphere, where its stunning blooming lagoons and imposing waterfalls create unforgettable landscapes. 

The island of Flores, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, has a rugged terrain and great environmental richness, standing out for its numerous scenic and environmental points of interest, including calderas, lagoons, rocky cliffs and imposing waterfalls.

Measuring 16.6 kilometers long, 12.2 kilometers wide and 141.4 km2 in surface area, it is on this piece of land inhabited by 3,793 people (data from 2011) that the European continent has its westernmost point. The island of Flores is part of the Western Group of the archipelago along with the island of Corvo, which is 17.9 kilometers away. The highest point on the island, at 911 m above sea level, is located in Morro Alto.
